Motion graphics are graphics that use video and/or animation technology to create the illusion of motion. For the rebranding of Hooper & Gale, team awesome have put together a motion graphics sequence showcasing Hooper & Gale as a professional firm in the field of Intellectual Property Law.
Here is the final product.
· Play motion graphic
This motion graphic runs for 30 seconds, and can be used as advertising material across a wide range of mediums. It is in compliance with TV standards for broadcasting and meets all the qualifications for use on electronic mediums such as LCD billboards and other public displays. Apart from this, the motion graphic can be used on the web, as a promotional tool to reach a wider audience.
The use of clean typographic transitions makes the visual aesthetic professional and engaging, to keep the audience interested. It introduces intellectual property law, and showcases what services Hooper & Gale can offer to potential and current clients.
The panoramic photography in the backdrop is taken directly from the location of your new office space in Docklands. This both identifies the location of the new office to viewers, and helps to associate H&G with the city of Melbourne where your company is based.
The colours used match those in the design of the web-site, and other company related media, so viewers can identify the look and feel as being associated with Hooper & Gale. The motion graphic has an audio track that has a slow and smooth ambient feel, which helps to reinforce the professional practice of your law firm. It can also be played without the audio track and still communicate the same message, due to the strong composition and typographic layouts.
We feel that our motion graphic is consistent with our overall design, and presents your company in a new and dynamic way.

Now back to Shane.
Thanks.

We here at Team Awesome Designs, felt that a website was an integral component to the rebranding of Hooper and Gale.

OPTIONAL//////////////////
Approximately 27 million people worldwide have access to the World Wide Web and it is estimated that by the end of 2010 56 million will have internet access. No matter what your business is, you can't ignore those 56 million people. Being accessible on the web, makes it easier for people to reach you, as well as show YOUR interest in helping them. This creates a feeling of community... a quality that gives you an enourmous advantage over your competition.
OPTIONAL//////////////////

We created a website that we felt reflected the firms new vibrant image while still retaining its corporate foundations. Initial designs of the website were quite simple and mimicked the traditional websites of other law firms. However, traditional and ordinary is not what you came to us for. We designed Hooper and Gale's website with your contemporary and dynamic image in mind. The redesign of the website preserves the simplicity of a traditional navigation menu but adds a modern touch. No matter their age or background, the simple navigation allows users to get the information they want as quickly and as easily as possible. Additionally, the photos in the menu allow Hooper and Gale to exhibit their new office locations and iterate their fresh image.

The logo and colour scheme are quite prominent on the site, to give a sense of consistency across all Hooper and Gale's promotional media. As Natalie said earlier, the royal purple reflects the companies values... Confidentiality ... Understanding and Trust. We used the light blue colour as the background colour for the readable content as it evokes a calming effect. Users are provided with a pleasant experience as they navigate through the site creating a positive reflection on the firm even before they have gone to your Dockland offices.

With such diverse cultures in Melbourne, Hooper and Gale should be able to be as accessible to as many people as possible. We added a language function catering for users whose first language is not English. We picked those languages which are also provided on the official City of Melbourne homepage such as Cantonese, Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Mandarin, Somalian, Spanish and Vietnamese. When users click on one of the languages on the top right hand side of the page the site will be translated into their desired language.

Site architecture is clear and simple. We felt that because of the wide variety of users accessing the site, everything should be as clear as possible. Also, since people generally do not read every single line on a webpage, especially if there is a lot of content, we designed each page so there would be a lot of white space making it easier for the user to scan down through the page and find the section that interests them.

We also felt it wouldn't be approprate to design anything too flashy, we just wanted a site that gets the job done to its utmost potential which we believed is an approach that the firm proudly adopts. The website is made wholly in HTML and CSS to be not only standards compliant but to accommodate those users who may not have the hardware or software to view a flash website.

And now over to Roger to present your new motion graphic.

The logo or logotype design is one of the most important visual assets a company has. It is what distinguishes and makes a company recognizable to the public. A logo has the ability to create and stimulate ideas and feelings upon first sight. As designers we wanted a sense of trust and reliability to be brought to the forefront of the publics mind. Of course, we also needed to consider their design brief, an important aspect of which was the contemporary and dynamic feel.

We came up with 3 variations for the logotype and a single type design. These concepts are simple, clean and convey a sense of stability and efficiency through the uncomplicated composition. The logotype graphics (gryphon and herald shield) while conventional and traditional in terms of associated connotations- middle evil time- are also non dating and have sense of professionalism and establishment.

Fonts used are variations of the Trajan Pro type face, and are strong stable serif types which give a sense of strength and clarity due the of clean, simple nature of the font. Of these design we opted for the text only based logo, with the rationale that, despite being a new office, there were still viable links to the fathering firm that were beneficial to their company, and that the inclusion of a logo might negatively severe ties the client might want to maintain. The all-caps is a conscious choice as it has a stronger impression than its lowercase counterpart.

We want the elements that we designed for their ident to be transitional across a range of different medias, including print based mediums (letter heads, business cards, folders etc.), website, motion-graphics and in house presentations. We opted for a minimalist design that is once again clean and simple, giving a sense of straightforwardness, strength, and efficiency. And in regards with their design specifications - contemporary and dynamic- we kept information and design elements separate, non cluttered, by utilizing negative space in order to achieve a stylish and professional look.

The colour scheme that runs through the design includes a rich purple and array of pale blues, with purple being the primary or focal colour. Purple was selected as it is a regal colour, associate with royalty, trust and strength. In accordance with research form University of Illinois the royal purple reflects a companies values emphasizing confidentiality, understanding and trust. Other connotations of the colour are security, speed, and high-technology. It is an appropriate strategic design choice as the attribute of the colour are well suited for a successful Intellectual Property Company.

This design scheme is most notable in the website and print productions. Another element of the design is the use of a series of photographic images, not of the lawyers team or offices, but images that captivate and instigate a firm belief that Hooper and Gale will deliver unfailingly on the companies professional promise.

To Laura

In the re-branding of Hooper and Gale, we created a website that would reflect the firm’s new vibrant image but retain the corporate foundations.

Approximately 27 million people worldwide have access to the World Wide Web and it is estimated that by the end of 2010 56 million will have Web access. No matter what your business is, you can't ignore 56 million people. To be a part of that community and show that you are interested in serving them, you need to be on the WWW for them.

Initial designs of the website were quite simple and mimicked the traditional websites of other law firms. As you can see, everything is quite minimalist, simple and straightforward in this design. However, we felt that it did not resonate with the dynamism of the 'new' Hooper and Gale. The redesign of the website preserves the simplicity of a traditional navigation menu but adds a modern touch. The photos in flash menu allows Hooper and Gale to exhibit their new office locations and iterate their fresh image.

The logo and colour scheme are quite prominent on the site, to give a sense of consistency across all Hooper and Gale's promotional media. The royal purple reflects the companies values like confidentiality, understanding and trust. The light blue gives it that modern touch.

Site architecture is very clear and easily accessible... simple. Everything is laid out so its easily readable because of the wide range of audience that could be viewing the site. There's enough white space to make it easy to scan pages. The simple navigation makes it user friendly so people can get the information they want as quickly and as easily as possible. We felt the site has quite a lot of information, and we kept it as simple as possible. We didnt want anything to flashy - just a site that gets the job done >> wholly reflects the firms own approaches. It’s made wholly in HTML and CSS to accommodate those users who may not have the hardware or software to view a flash website.

Making business information available is one of the most important ways to serve your customers. But if you look at serving the customer, you'll find even more ways to use WWW technology. How about making forms available to pre-qualify for loans, or have your staff do a search for that classic jazz record your customer is looking for, without tying up your staff on the phone to take down the information? Allow your customer to punch in sizes and check it against a database that tells him what color of jacket is available in your store? All this can be done, and more, on the WWW.

Currently, we’ve developed a built-in contact form on the site makes it particularly easy to get into contact with the firm. A easy aspect of online support. There is also an added function of changing languages of the site. With such diverse cultures in Melbourne, Hooper and Gale want to be able to be as accessible to as many people as possible in melbourne...

With society constantly changing, Hooper and Gales quarterly (?) newsletter keeps clients and any one else interested, up-to-date with the latest developments in not only the firm but Intellectual Properly law as well.
